Pension FAQs
How much should I have in my pension by age?
A common rule of thumb is to have 1x your salary saved by age 30, 3x by 40, 6x by 50, and 8x by 60. Use our calculator to see if you are on track based on your specific salary and contribution rate.
What is the state pension in 2026?
The full new state pension is £11,502 per year (£221.20 per week) in 2025/26. You need at least 35 qualifying years of National Insurance contributions to receive the full amount.
What growth rate should I use?
We use 5% as a default, which is a conservative estimate for a balanced pension fund after inflation. Higher-risk funds may return more; lower-risk funds may return less. The actual return will depend on your fund choices.
